In May 2012, Christina was excited to learn that she was  named the national 2011 Amy Writing Awards 1st place winner.

She was awarded the 1st place prize of $10,000 by the Amy Foundation at the Michigan Prayer Breakfast in Lansing, Michigan on May 16, 2012 with more than 800 community leaders, politicians and clergy present. Christina was deeply humbled by this incredible honor. Amy Foundation President James Russell presents Christina with her award below.

My former supervisor, Jennifer “Ginger” Stache, a talented journalist, who is now the executive producer for Joyce Meyer Ministries decided to create awareness about suicide by producing a documentary. I was in my mid-forties, when Ginger asked me to share my own struggle with suicide.
