She was awarded the 1st place prize of $10,000 by the Amy Foundation at the Michigan Prayer Breakfast in Lansing, Michigan on May 16, 2012 with more than 800 community leaders, politicians and clergy present. Christina was deeply humbled by this incredible honor. Amy Foundation President James Russell presents Christina with her award below.

Getting Real:Suicide Awareness

For me, suicide awareness is personal. My story began while I was working as a reporter and producer at Lima’s WTLW TV 44. My former supervisor, Jennifer “Ginger” Stache, a talented journalist, who is now the executive producer for Joyce Meyer Ministries decided to create awareness about suicide by producing a documentary. I was in my mid-forties, when Ginger asked me to share my own struggle with suicide.
